Jacqueline Cohen First Richard L. Short Memorial Award Winner

The Richard L. Short Memorial Award will be presented annually at the spring concert to a graduating senior, in recognition of years of dedication and commitment to the Lakeland Youth Symphony. The Board will select a deserving student based on involvement, leadership qualities, musicianship, and volunteer efforts on behalf of Lakeland. Each recipient will receive a plaque, a monetary award, and their name on a plaque that will remain in the Rehearsal Hall, listing each year's honorees. This award will inspire students to give their best to Lakeland while remembering Richard Short for his generosity and support of the students and mission of the Lakeland Youth Symphony for so many years. Congratulations to Jacqueline Cohen, our first recipient of the Richard L. Short Memorial Award. Jackie will be attending Boston University in the fall, where she will continue to play violin.
